Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia (CUFA BC) support

Matthew Litvak, President

Mount Allison University Faculty Association

MAFA Executive and members,

The Confederation of University Faculty Associations of British Columbia (CUFA BC)stands in solidarity with the Mount Allison University Faculty Association and its 200 members as they go on their second strike in six years.  MAFA seeks to improve terms and conditions of employment that are foundational to the university’s success, such as job security and compensation for part-time faculty, academic resources and workload, and disability accommodation.  These goals are compatible with both the dignity of faculty and the best interests of the university itself. All faculty deserve respect and fair working conditions comparable to those of their colleagues in other institutions.  We support MAFA in advancing these collective interests and wish you the best in negotiating a fair deal for your members.

CUFA BC represents over 5500 faculty at the research universities of British Columbia: University of British Columbia, University of Northern British Columbia, Royal Roads University, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Victoria.

Sincerely

Dr.Jacqueline Holler

CUFA BC President
